This post is all about the ultimate weekly reset routine.
There is something about a solid weekly reset routine that really inspires and excites me. I love planning and prepping for the new week ahead, especially since I work full time and am trying to juggle a lot of different areas of life. There is so much to think about when solidifying what you want your week to look like. A new week means a new opportunity to show up as the best version of yourself. There is so much potential in a weekly reset routine because it gives you the power to set up a balanced and organized schedule! I have worked full time for over a decade and usually do a reset routine every Sunday. And let me tell you…it has made such a huge difference in my life!

1. Reflect
The most important part of a weekly reset routine is reflection. Reflect on areas of your life and work week that you aren’t happy with. Are you always eating out because you aren’t meal planning? Do you feel like you always skip your workouts because you’re too tired throughout the week? Are you completely consumed by your job and feel like you never have time for yourself? These are all real things that everyone struggles with. If you currently work full time, these are some things that you will need to regularly check in on with yourself. Take a look at the questions below and jot down your thoughts in a notebook or journal. Journaling is a great way to get your feelings out and organize your thoughts.

2. Get Inspired
Spend some time doing things you love. This could be getting outside and going on a hike, going to your favorite coffee shop or just going on a walk around your neighborhood while listening to your favorite podcast. It can be hard to separate work life from personal life but I find that doing things I love on the weekend really helps me to feel happy and inspired for the new work week. For me, I really enjoy browsing Pinterest. I love to create boards for a bunch of random ideas that I have. Create a reset routine board on Pinterest and pin graphics and photos that inspire you and encourage you to live out your dream life. 3. Plan Out Your Week
An essential part of a weekly reset routine is planning out the upcoming work week. This sets the tone for the entire week and I always find that my weeks go so much better if I actually prepare for them. When you plan your work week, make sure you are realistic with the time you have and are not overwhelming yourself on certain days. The more realistic you are, the more you can accomplish.
I like to write out a to do list for the entire week and organize it by the least to most important tasks. Once I write up my to do list, I distribute tasks to each day of the week. I try to stick with about 2-5 tasks to complete for each day. When planning out your week, try to keep your days balanced so you don’t become overwork yourself and get burnt out.

4. Clean Your Space
In most cases, your home space reflects your inner world. At least that’s what it feels like for me. When I feel good mentally, my home is clean and tidy. When I feel tired and unmotivated, my home tends to get messy and unorganized. Make a list of the areas in your home that, if clean and tidy, would benefit you most.
My weekly reset cleaning list consists of the kitchen, bathroom, dining room table (this is where stuff piles up), nightstand and living room. A few other things that also fall into this category are laundry, clean sheets and a bathroom deep clean. I try to do small cleaning tasks throughout the week so that I don’t have to do a a full home deep clean during my weekly reset routine on the weekend.

5. Grocery Shop & Meal Prep
It can be so hard to be consistent with healthy eating habits. Get in the routine of planning out your meals for the week and meal prepping. This ensures that you have meals ready to go and won’t be tempted to constantly snack or eat out. First, clean out your refrigerator and make a list of the basic groceries that you need. Next, scroll through Pinterest or pull out a cookbook and pick out a few recipes that you would like to try. Make sure to eat before going to the grocery store and focus on buying whole, healthy foods.
The best tip I have for healthy eating habits is to not bring unhealthy food into your home. I don’t know about you, but I have no self control when it comes to sweets so I just don’t buy them anymore. Overall, it can be a lot of work to meal prep before a work week but it will literally save you so much time in the end!

6. Move Your Body
Go to a workout class, the gym or on a walk around your neighborhood. Getting physical exercise doesn’t have to be this miserable and complicated thing. You can start at anytime and do an easy at home workout or simply go on a walk. You don’t need to get anxious with the thought of going to the gym or coming up with the perfect workout routine. A lot of times we complicate working out when in reality it should be about enjoying moving your body in a way that brings you joy.
Try to shift your mindset from losing weight or looking a certain way to creating joy through movement. This mindset has healed my relationship with working out. Don’t overthink it and just do what feels most joyful to you. Your body needs physical activity so make it a priority to go about it in a healthy and mindful way! The more you do the more you will want to move your body!

7. Self Care
Self care is a very popular topic these days. Sometimes, taking a bubble bath and putting on a face mask is not realistic for certain people’s lifestyle. Not everyone has a ton of time to spend on themselves. However, even just spending 30 minutes doing something that makes you feel good can be enough to prepare mentally for the week ahead. Some ideas of self care are budgeting, meeting up with a friend, beautifying a space in your home, or knocking something off your to do list that has been bothering you for a while. Self care is not always pretty and relaxing. Sometimes, caring for yourself means doing the hard thing that you have been putting off so that you can feel better about your upcoming work week.

8. Sleep Routine
Creating a consistent sleep routine is essential for having a productive week. Your bedroom should be a calming space where you can get quality sleep. Create habits that lead to a good nights rest. Create a nighttime routine that preps your body to go to sleep. For example, turn down the lights, make sure your space is cool, make yourself a cup of tea, put your phone away/on do not disturb, and start reading 30 minutes before you want to fall asleep. This routine tells your mind that it is time to start winding down and preparing for sleep. We all know that screens keep us wide awake so make sure to put your phone away an hour or so before going to bed.

And that’s a wrap on the weekly reset routine! I hope this post encourages you to start a weekly reset routine to help prepare you for your work week. Life can be so busy and sometimes work can be overwhelming and stressful. A weekly reset routine allows you to check in with yourself and tweak parts of your life that might be falling through the cracks. Being mindful of the week ahead and having a plan and schedule empowers you to be in control of your work week. You can accomplish all things as long as you have a plan! I hope you have a productive and fulfilling work week!
