I love sitting down at the end of each week to write up these recaps. I find that it really does help me take stock of what I spent my week doing and also to reflect on what I could do better the following week. Now that we are in the dead of winter, I am really starting to feel a bit stir crazy. I am missing my garden and all the colors of warmer weather. I have so many exciting things planned for this spring and can’t wait to share them with you all.
We have been getting some major snow here in Virginia. I absolutely love it and it really does make winter so much more enjoyable. I have lagged a bit on the home projects this past week. There’s so much that I could be doing but for some reason, I haven’t been feeling inspired to tackle stuff around the house. I want to change that this upcoming week!

Monday
Monday was a beautiful sunny day. I went to the gym after work and then came home, started on dinner and relaxed for most of the night. I have been making a point to read more instead of spending time on my phone. It has been going so well! I have started a reading journal and am trying to be more intentional with the books I read. I like to write down my thoughts or anything that stood out to me while reading. I tend to read very quickly so writing down notes helps me to slow down a bit.
A few months ago, I went through my bookshelves and got rid of a lot of books. I want to be more particular with the books that I read and collect. I am not a fan of books that are overly inappropriate or dark/violent. I find that more modern books are like this. I really just don’t get on with it. I’ve read books like that in the past but find that I don’t want to read books like that anymore. I’m starting to read more classics and I’ve truly been enjoying them. When I was younger, I struggled to read classics. I think it was because I just didn’t have the patience for them! However, the more I read them, the more I love them.
Also, my husband put together this beautiful flower bouquet for me so I had to share. He is so good at flower arrangements! 🙂

Tuesday
Tuesday was such a fun day because we got a ton of snow! I believe we got about 8 inches. It started around 2pm so I left work early. As soon as I got home, I made myself a cup of coffee, curled up with a book and watched the snow fall. I also spent some time writing in my office and it was so cozy with all the snow. We took a long walk down our road and saw all the beautiful, snowy sights. We live in the country so we have lots of fields and horse farms around us.
The snow piled up pretty quickly. We cleared the driveway and the cars that night but they were fully covered again the following morning.

Wednesday
I stayed home from work on Wednesday and had a cozy snow day. I got up, had my coffee and read and then did some chores around the house. I went over to my neighbors to see if they needed help clearing the snow but they had a tractor and said they were fine. They cleared our driveway which was so sweet!
By 1pm, it had warmed up and was raining. The snow started melting and the roads were completely clear so I met up with a friend for coffee. It was such a beautiful drive through all the snow covered trees. I spent the rest of the evening cooking, reading and prepping for the following work day.

Thursday
Thursday was a pretty productive day. I went to the gym and got a lot of stuff done around the house. My husband made us dinner and we watched a movie. The snow had pretty much melted since it was raining on and off and the weather warmed up. I didn’t do to many noteworthy things this day but I wanted to share a photo of Theo doing his best begging act. Also, he needs a bath!

The Weekend
I had such a fun and relaxing weekend. Friday was Valentine’s Day and I woke up to beautiful flowers and a card from my husband. Later that night, we had dinner at a cute restaurant in town. It rained the entire day on Saturday so I grabbed a coffee and spent the day visiting some bookstores. Later that evening, my sister came over for dinner and we had fun just hanging out and catching up.
We woke up to some serious rain on Sunday morning. The wind was so bad that I thought some of our trees might come down. That afternoon, the weather cleared up and I did a bit of work in the garden. I added soil and rabbit droppings to some of our raised garden beds and cut back a few bushes. I noticed some daffodils starting to peep up, so exciting! For the rest of the day, I did some resetting for the upcoming work week, caught up on some reading and did a few things on my computer.

That’s all for this weekly recap! I am so excite because we are supposed to get more snow this upcoming Wednesday! This week, I would like to be more productive around the house. I’ve been putting off some work in one of our rooms and still need to do a deep clean of my office. I would also like to continue reading and maybe do a few crafts. I’ve been working on some new bracelets and recently printed out some more pictures for my scrapbook.
I hope you have a lovely week and I will see you in the next recap!
