If you don’t know, I have a YouTube channel and I used to share a bunch of work week in my life videos. I will most likely be discontinuing those videos because I want to pivot to creating content that is more reflective of who I am as a person. I have so many passions outside of work and I have really been focusing on those passions lately. I thought it would be fun to continue the weekly recaps but focus more on home-centered content.
Now that summer is right around the corner, I am super busy preparing my garden, flowerbeds and home for the warmer months. Not to mention, I have so many new animals to take care of. I have added 11 baby chicks and 2 baby ducks to our family within the last month so I have been busy! I love the idea of sharing more personal moments of my life to connect more with you guys! I hope to post these weekly recaps as much as possible depending on how much you guys enjoy them!

Monday
So let’s start off with Monday. Monday was such a beautiful sunny day so I wanted to take advantage of it and do some more work in our backyard when I got home from work. I am really trying to spruce up our backyard so we have been busy with a ton of work. Over the past weekend, we went to the Garden Center and picked out a ton of perennials for the flowerbeds that are next to our garden shed. Today, I worked on planting the new perennials and I love the way the flowerbeds are starting to look. I am definitely going for the cottage garden style with these flowerbeds. I also made sure to spend some time with the baby ducks and let the baby chicks out to get some much needed sun. My dogs, Theo and Oscar, did such a good job with the baby ducks! So precious!

Tuesday
Tuesday was a very relaxed day. I spent some time hanging out with the pups and ducks outside and also did a bit of planting. I planted seeds indoors a few weeks ago but they honestly didn’t do that well. I am hoping that they toughen up a bit once I replant them but I think it’s going to be a loss. I have a lot of flower seed packets left so I am going to try to plant them directly into the flowerbeds once it gets hotter outside.
I decided to head to Home Depot to grab some paint for our garden shed. We got some yellow paint for the garden shed door over the weekend but totally forgot white paint for the edges of the windows on the shed. Of course I had to take a look at all of the flowers and ended up picking out a few more flowers. I actually grabbed a bunch but I couldn’t help myself! By the time I got home is was time to start on evening chores. Now that I have quite the family of animals, my morning and evening chores have become more extensive. I love it. My chicks are thriving outside and the ducks are growing so fast!

Wednesday
Its always nice to make it to the middle of the week. Wednesday was a cloudy day with an early morning thunderstorm. After work, I made myself a cup of decaf coffee and sat outside with the dogs and baby ducks. The ducks are growing so quickly. I want to make sure that I’m spending as much time with them as possible so they are tame when they grow up. After I relaxed for a bit, I decided to plant the lavender I bought on Tuesday. I love the way fresh lavender smells and can’t wait for these plants to bloom and grow. I gave them plenty of space to spread out!
I did the evening chores then went inside to do some work on the blog. I have been working so hard at building this blog and it’s my goal to go full time with it one day! I spent about two hours working on my computer then headed out on a walk with Oscar. The walk was absolutely stunning and it reminded me of summer nights. The birds were singing, there was a pink sunset and I spotted two adorable foxes playing in a field. Oscar enjoyed the walk as well. When I got home, I did some more work on my computer, had some milk thistle tea and called it a night.

Thursday
Thursday was pretty busy. I went straight to the grocery store as soon as I got off work to pick up some ingredients for a few recipes. I am creating a meal prep guide so I wanted to start on a few recipes. When I got home, I hung out with all the animals in the backyard and checked on some of my flowers. There were some new blooms! I spent most of the night working on the recipes and we ended up ordering some pizza because we were so busy.
I was planning on going on a long walk but the night somehow got away from me. After I finished up in the kitchen, I spent some time in the chicken coop checking up on the little chicks. They aren’t so little anymore. I’m so happy they are tame and don’t run away when I’m around them. Also, Theo has been so great with all our animals. He likes to lay by the chicken coop and watch everyone. We have had no issues with hawks or other animals and I think it’s because he is such a great watchdog!

Friday
Best day of the week! On Fridays I get off at 12:30pm which is so nice! After work, I met up with my friend and grabbed lunch and some coffee. Literally the perfect way to start off my weekend. I did some work on the blog and headed home at around 4pm. When I got home, I started on evening chores and spent some time checking out all the new flowers in the garden. I love this time of year where every time I go into my backyard there’s a new bloom.
My ducks are getting so big and more sweet. They have definitely gotten comfortable with me and love to crawl into my lap every time I sit down. After I finished up chores, I took a long shower, put on some comfy pjs and worked on my computer for the rest of the night. I am trying to be super disciplined when it comes to writing on my blog so I’ve been ending every night on my computer.

Saturday
Saturday was such a fun day. I woke up and had my coffee on the back porch and then did some morning chores. My mom came over and we had a little gardening day. We went to a few nurseries, did some shopping, had lunch and did some work in my flowerbeds. I’ve been wanting to decorate my front porch for a while so I bought the cutest flower pots at Homegoods and bought a few plants to repot. Homegoods always has the best flower pots. I still need to paint the front door and buy a nice wreath. I will definitely be doing a blog post on the front porch makeover, so stay tuned for that! I’m so happy with all the flowers I got for the flowerbeds.
I got the most beautiful peonies and planted them next to the birdbath. Can’t wait for them to bloom! I will say, plants have gotten so expensive! I have spent so much money trying to fill my flowerbeds. The one good thing is that most of them are perennials so its a good investment. I ended the night with watching the new Spiderwick Chronicles show. The Spiderwick Chronicles were my favorite books growing up and I definitely enjoyed the first episode.

Week in My Life Wrap-Up
That wraps up the weekly recap! I had such a great time writing this post. It kind of felt like writing in a journal. This week was definitely gardening heavy but I just couldn’t help it. The weather was so nice! I have so many projects that I want to get done this summer and it feels like I don’t have enough time to do it all. I still need to redo certain parts of the chicken coop, upgrade our compost bin, finish the garden, build some fences and fill the flower beds! The list goes on and I’m so exited to share these projects with you all. Anyways, thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week ahead!
